The Office of the Civil Service Commission serves as the central Personnel office for the City of Bridgeport.  We provide service to the general public and the employees of the City of Bridgeport.

Administration of pension plan for Civil Service and Grants Personnel employees under the Municipal Employees Retirement System (MERS)
Payroll administration and verification
Classification of positions, and job descriptions
Administration of Chapter 17 of the Charter of the City of Bridgeport
Compliance with State and Federal laws with regard to employment
