
SWIMMING– Exercise is a vital part to staying healthy and swimming is a perfect way to get low impact exercise. Swimming puts less stress on your joints and also strengthens your whole body. The pool is open Monday through Thursday, 8 am – 12. Seniors swim laps, participate in a water aerobic class or use the pool to relax. Exercise – Looking to stay in shape? Each of the three centers in Bridgeport is equipped with exercise equipment available for Bridgeport seniors to use daily. Stationary bikes, treadmills and hand weights are available free of charge. In addition to workout equipment, our centers also offer some classes to help you stay in shape. Bethany Center’s seniors stay in shape with line dancing, Black Rock seniors Stretch-n-Sway to stay healthy (every Tuesday 11:00am-12:00pm). Ceramics– Be ARTISTIC and have FUN in a Friendly House Ceramics Class!
Our staff will assist you with the instruction and materials you need. Make great gifts from our huge selection. Whether you need to stay active or want to express your artistic flare, ceramics are for you! No experience necessary. In class you will be taught the art of ceramics and you will learn all the basic skills necessary to create beautiful projects. Individual assistance for beginners or those who have enjoyed this art before. You choose your own projects from the shelf and turn plain clay sculptures into beautiful works of art. Open to all Bridgeport Seniors - Monday through Thursday, 12:00 pm– 3:00 p.m. You may bring your lunch with you. There is a refrigerator and microwave available. Snacks also available for purchase. Restroom facilities on site. This is a smoke-free, wheelchair accessible environment. Registration may be made through the Eisenhower Center. Phone: 576-7994.
Bingo – Traditional Bingo is once per week in each of our centers. Open to all Bridgeport Seniors. No reservations necessary. Bingo is held at: Black Rock Center on Wednesdays 12:30 – 3:00; Eisenhower Center on Wednesdays 1:00 – 3:00; Bethany Center on Fridays 1:00 – 3:00.

Computer – The Eisenhower Center has a computer room with four workstations available to seniors between the hours of 9am – 4pm daily. Each workstation is internet ready. Seniors can search the internet, send/access email or just use the word processing programs. Some assistance provided.
Billiards/Ping Pong: The Eisenhower Center has recently re-covered the billiard table – come on down and play a game of 8 ball, 9 ball. Also available is a ping-pong table – paddles and balls are provided at the front desk.
