Building Permits

The Building Department issues permits and inspects work done to all buildings and other structures. Permits include building, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, fire protection sprinklers and extinguishing systems, refrigeration, demolition and signs. This department issues and manages contractor, hauler, and homeowner licenses and permits to perform street and sidewalk excavation within the City of Bridgeport. This is the office to contact if you are a resident, contractor, or hauler who needs more information on rules and regulations governing street and sidewalk excavation in the city. Sewer Connection Permits
