EXAMPLES OF ACCEPTABLE HOUSEHOLD SOLID WASTE FOR CURBSIDE COLLECTION: Food Scraps, paper litter not recyclable, glass not identified as recyclable (drinking glasses, unbroken fluorescent light bulbs, electric light bulbs, etc).
Plastics not identified as recyclable (flower ports, plastic drinking glasses, kids toys, etc.)
EXAMPLES OF UNACCEPTABLE SOLID WASTE FOR CURBSIDE COLLECTION: These items are accepted at the transfer station. Bulky waste (mattresses, box-springs, dressers, etc.) cardboard identified as recyclable, material used for shipping) glass, food containers marked with a number 2, white office paper, magazines, scrap metal, waste oil, grass clippings, Christmas trees, brush, leaves. Not Accepted materials concrete, demolition debris, and remodeling materials.
NOTE: Glass, metal, plastic containers marked with #1 or #2, newspaper, office paper, magazines, wrapping paper, notebook paper, cardboard litter, empty detergent boxes, cereal boxes, and pizza boxes are acceptable in blue bins and can be placed at the curb for RECYCLING COLLECTION.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS:
The City does not accept hazardous/medical waste. The city provides a household haz-mat day that is scheduled annually to accept your cleaning solvents, oil-based paints, computers, monitors, ink cartridges, mercury thermometer anything hazardous to the environment.
