The Bridgeport School system educates approximately 22,000 children, making it the second largest school system in the state of Connecticut. Bridgeport supports two large hospitals—St. Vincent’s and Bridgeport Hospital. Institutions of higher learning housed in the City include The University of Bridgeport, Housatonic Community College, St. Vincent’s College, and Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing.
