Teen Training and Employment

Summer Youth Employment

Based on available funding the Summer Youth Employment Program places youth ages 14 through 21 in jobs, working four (4) hours a day. These youth are trained in areas related to job readiness skills, working with younger children, life skills, conflict resolution, and team building strategies. The training is offered by area professionals and provide youth with an overview of employment expectations.

Youths will be provided the opportunity to learn marketable skills and be better prepared for the future endeavors as adults. They will also learn to interact with business professionals and receive mentorship from employers. This will be a valuable learning and working experience that will stay with them forever. As youth go through high school and on to college they will be better prepared to deal with life situations and draw from their own personal experiences.
