2/5/2014 - Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders Receives Grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation

Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders (BCYL) is pleased to be recipient of a generous grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation (FCCF).

On December 24, the FCCF Board of Directors approved a competitive grant in the amount $15,000 to support BCYL's Building Today's Youth - Tomorrow's Leaders After School Program.

The funds awarded will be utilized to support Youth enrichments programs through BCYL's Sports, Education and Community platforms.

 ”We are grateful for the support of the Fairfield County Community Foundation  as we strive to provide the children of Bridgeport with the environment, resources and inspiration that will enable them to become tomorrow’s leaders,” said BCYL President John Torres.

BCYL began as the Bridgeport Caribe Baseball League as a 501(3)(c) organization to provide Bridgeport families a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn not only the game of baseball but also life lessons inn sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership and citizenship.

BCYL nurtures children while teaching responsibility through teamwork. BCYL children, families and volunteers are expecting to make a difference in their communities. They are asked to get honors in school, participate in civic activities and share their sportsmanship lessons with their peers.
