Bridgeport, Conn. (July 6, 2015) – Today, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch will celebrate a groundbreaking of a new Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen in Bridgeport’s Black Rock neighborhood.
“Bridgeport is getting better every day. Small business owners, investors and job creators see the progress and are choosing to open their businesses here,” said Mayor Finch.
This is the second Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen to open in Bridgeport, Conn. The first opened on North Avenue in 2012 and has been very successful. The new location replaces a former used car lot situated in front of the Stop & Shop grocery store.
Recently the Wall Street Journal described Black Rock as “a vibrant neighborhood where middle-class families, artists, downsizing senior citizens and young professionals live side by side. Residents say the community, part of the city of Bridgeport, prizes its distinctive identity and engaged population, as well as its downtown, local arts scene and picturesque waterfront park.”
