5/6/2013 - Rooster River Community workshop

. Please join us for one of two workshops focused on communities directly impacted by the Rooster River. Help us identify projects and recommend solutions for reducing pollution and improving water quality throughout the region. Your knowledge and suggestions for improving the Rooster River are vital to developing a successful plan.

The Rooster River encompasses 15.3 square-miles and runs through Fairfield, Bridgeport, Trumbull and Easton with a population of 80,000 living amongst the river. The water quality is highly degraded due to elevated bacteria levels resulting from sewer overflows and urban stormwater runoff impacting recreation, wildlife, flooding and habitat.

At this event, a survey was distributed to collect opinions about concerns, issues, and priorities. If you were unable to attend the event, but would like to provide feedback, please print the survey. Completed surveys can be e-mailed to or faxed to 413-846-4597. Thank you for your interest and input.
