The mayor, as the City's Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for setting policy, making nominations and appointments to boards and commissions, presiding at City Council meetings, acts as the official City representative and liaison with various governmental and private agencies, oversees the preparation of the municipal budget and all fiscal aspects connected with functioning of City government.
