The Transfer Station is owned and operated by the City of Bridgeport to provide for its residents and businesses safe, environmentally responsible access to refuse and hazardous waste disposal as well as recycling services.  

The facility is open to the public year-round, with spring/summer hours (April 1-October 31) of 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday (Saturdays 7am-NOON), and winter hours for November 1-March 31 of 7am-2:30pm Monday-Friday (Saturdays 7am-NOON). The Transfer Station is closed only 8 holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.

The City provides the site itself, management of the site, a Weigh Master, a roll-off truck with driver employed by the City to provide for refuse, recycling, bulk and hazardous waste disposal.
