Bee City USA Overview

The City of Bridgeport City Council passed a resolution on July 1st, 2024 to become an affiliate of Bee City USA, a program sponsored by the Xerces Society. This program will be spearheaded by the BEEport Committee in collaboration with Aspetuck Land Trust and the City of Bridgeport Sustainability Office

The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation is an international nonprofit organization that protects the natural world through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats.

Bee City USA provides a framework for communities to come together to conserve native pollinators by providing them with healthy habitat that is rich in a variety of native plants, provides nest sites, and is protected from pesticides.
