“Due to COVID 19 and State directive, all taxes on current year will only be charged 3% interest per annum instead of 18% rate for July, Aug, September. Taxes must be paid by September 30th to qualify for this low interest rate. After September 30th, the interest on late taxes will change back to 18% rate per year.”
The mission of the Tax Collector is to collect all tax revenue due to the City in accordance with Connecticut State Statutes and to provide the taxpayers of the City with information and assistance in a prompt and courteous manner. This office is responsible for the billing and collection of all Real Estate, Personal Property, Motor Vehicle Taxes, and related penalty charges. CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS ARE NOW ACCEPTED IN THE OFFICE AND ONLINE. A FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR USE OF A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD

No Online Payments will be accepted If Vehicle Has Been Booted
Please note: if you are making a partial payment(s), you need to pay the full amount due on the bill and add it to the shopping cart. When done, go to the shopping cart (located at the top of the screen in the Bill(s) section), and select "checkout." Then select the "pay now" option, select "edit" and enter the amount of the partial payment(s) (bill by bill). Then complete the customer, cardholder, and payment information and continue until the transaction is complete.
Delinquent Tax Bills:
Payments may be made in person, by mail, or online; however you must come into the office if you have to register a vehicle.
