Our Services:
- Provide case management to special populations, such as: young mothers, persons with disabilities, veterans, seniors, and their families.
- Assist families facing housing-related hardship to regain stability by providing emergency rental and/or utility assistance.
- Provide emergency relocation services for city residents whose residences have been deemed unfit or unhealthy for human habitation. Referrals are accepted from health and fire departments.
- Work in collaboration with Opening Doors of Fairfield County to assess and link homeless residents to services.
- Host East Side Farmers Market, every Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm, from mid July to late October.
- Administer state and federal programs that target economically and socially disadvantaged city residents and assist in special initiatives of a social nature as assigned by the city’s administration.
Homeowner Assistance:
The goal of MyHomeCT is to cure mortgage delinquencies and defaults and prevent foreclosures among eligible homeowners that experienced a hardship because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program also includes assistance for qualified non-mortgage expenses including, but not limited to, non-escrowed real estate taxes and insurance as well as condominium or homeowners’ association fees.
