Congratulations on your marriage!
When applying for a marriage license you need the following:
- Picture identification with your current address (if you don’t have identification, bring two different utility bills for proof of address)
- Social Security cards
- Name, address and phone number of the person performing the ceremony (List of Bridgeport Justices of the Peace)
- The address where the ceremony will take place
- Date of marriage
- $50.00 cash or money order. We only accept cash or money orders (made out to "VITAL RECORDS").
You both must come to the Vital Statistics Office at the Margaret E. Morton Government Center, 999 Broad Street, in downtown Bridgeport. If you cannot come in together, one individual should come in to get the process started. You must be in the office by appointment only.
Note: Marriage license applications are not accepted after 4 pm.
