The Office of Vital Statistics issues official copies of Death Certificates.
- The cost for each copy of a death certificate is $20, payable by cash or money order.
- To expedite the process, you can print the form in advance of coming to the office.
- Alternately, you may choose to apply online for the record with VitalChekExpress.
Because the City of Bridgeport does not accept credit cards or online orders, we have partnered with an independent company to provide this service. You may choose to use the VitalChek Express Service, (www.vitalchek.com) to complete the entire process online. An additional fee is charged for using this service, and all major credit cards are accepted, including American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.
