Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Vital Records is to receive, certify, file, maintain, protect, and preserve the City's Vital Records as dictated by law as well as to provide excellent customer service to the public in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner. Additionally, we aim to be considered by others, both in and outside the working environment, as an excellent department staffed by highly competent employees.
Effective 10/1/2009: You must apply for a marriage license in the city or town you plan to be married in. To find a justice of the peace in Bridgeport, click here.
NOTE: The Office stops processing marriage license applications at 4:00 pm.
