President Pro Tempore Newton is an advocate for strong communities and efficient government. He has the skill to bring people together to improve their lives and well-being. He has led in prioritizing meaningful rehabilitation and successful reentry as key to improved public safety. Working closely with elected officials, city agencies, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses, he has a unique perspective on government and politics. On Budget and Appropriations, he has enabled better allocation of funding and capital resources. Ernie’s vision is for all neighbors to have a shared quality of life in a thriving, healthy community.
