Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim joined mayors from across the country for the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) 89th Virtual Winter Meeting to discuss key national and local issues such as immigration, gun violence, environmental priorities, and the continued push by USCM for racial and social justice, as well as response to the COVID crisis.

Mayor Ganim stated, “I look forward to learning and working with other Mayors and the Biden administration over the next four years to discuss and address the issues that are important to the people I serve in Bridgeport and beyond.”

The 89th Winter Meeting provided the opportunity for Mayors to share their own insight as well as to hear from experts and Biden-Harris administration members in interactive breakout discussions. A major priority of the event was to also discuss the public health response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with a focus on increasing access to COVID-19 vaccines.

During the meeting, President Biden affirmed his commitment to working with urgency to build back the economy and contain the pandemic.  President Biden stated, “You have a partner in the White House, Vice President Harris and me. A partner you can trust, who will listen, who will work to get you what you need.”
