As part of the program’s launch, the City Council has appointed a Citizen Review Committee responsible for reviewing and selecting nominees in accordance with criteria set forth by the municipal ordinance. This community-based committee brings together respected members of Bridgeport’s civic and cultural fabric. Together, this committee will evaluate nominees based on achievement, a minimum residency requirement, and the extent to which the individual has served as a positive ambassador for the City of Bridgeport.
 

Each year, six individuals will be selected by the committee and recommended to the City Council’s Miscellaneous Matters Committee for final review and approval. An unveiling ceremony will honor each inductee with a commemorative plaque and public recognition.
