About the Charter Revision Commission
The Charter Revision Commission initiated pursuant to C.G.S. § 7-188(b). The commission will comprehensively review the City Charter and focus on improving and modernizing language as it relates to the legislative body, the City’s boards and commissions, and other general language for consistency. The Commission is composed of 13 commissioners and will undertake an open, inclusive process that prioritizes community engagement to gauge input from Bridgeport residents through public hearings and online forms.
The Commission will submit its draft report no later than June 16, 2025, for review by the Council and to ensure the questions will be considered at referendum in the general election of 2025.
