Below is a list of important dates to remember for the September 9, 2025 Primary. 

June 9, 2025 Party Transfer - Municipal Primary
July 23, 2025 Primary Petitions become available.
September 8, 2025 Last day to register in person. 
November 4, 2025 General Election
June 9, 2025  Party Transfer  Last day that an enrolled elector can transfer from one party to another party and be eligible to vote in municipal primary of new party.(sec 9-59)
July 23, 2025 / August 6, 2025

Primary petitions become available.  Petition forms for persons desiring to oppose party-endorsed candidates for municipal office will be available in the Registrar of Voters office.  

Primary petitions - filing.  Primary petitions for opposition candidates of a major party for municipal offices must be submitted to respective registrars by 4:00 p.m. on this day to the Registrar of Voters office.

August 19, 2025  Absentee ballots for municipal primary become available on this day.
August 22, 2025 Primary Enrollment Session   if a primary is to be held, mandatory enrollment session must be held on this date for the purpose of registration and / or enrollment of electors entitled to vote in primary.  5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
August 22, 2025 Registration and Enrollment Cut-off (Mail in)  Deadline for registering and / or enrolling for voting in the primary unless registering in person with the Registrar of Voters office.  
Mail in application of new voter must be postmarked by this day or received by a voter registration agency or D.M.V. by this day may be received by ROV until 12:00 noon of September 8, 2025.
September 2, 2025 - September 7, 2025 Early Voting Begins. Early voting period begins on the eight day prior to Primary Election it is adjusted for her Labor Day holiday. Early voting available from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. also extended hours on the last Tuesday and Thursday before Primary from 8:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. 
September 9, 2025 Primary Day Voting takes place from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
