The City of Bridgeport Internship Program was created to provide opportunities for career development for individuals interested in working in local government and serving the community.

Interns will receive challenging assignments in their respective departments, gain exposure to working in a government setting and create a pipeline of job opportunities.  Individuals will gain valuable skills and learn the operations of municipal government. City of Bridgeport Internships will provide you with the following benefits. 

You will... 

• Be paired with a municipal department (click here for a list of City departments)
• Provide mentorship opportunities and gain hands on learning experience in a professional work setting
• Develop career related skills and abilities
• Work with the Community
• Receive Academic Credit and/or Transcript Notation (Requirements differ by school. Visit your Center for Career and Professional Development department for eligibility).

Internship Opportunities are year-round, however majority of internship opportunities will be available during the Summer.
