IMPORTANT ALERT FOR ALL SNAP RECIPIENTS
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (FNS) warns the Federal Government shutdown can directly impact the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). What Connecticut recipients need to know:
- November Benefits: SNAP benefits for November will not be sent out until the federal shutdown ends or FNS provides new guidance.
- Current Benefits: Any SNAP benefits currently loaded onto your EBT card ARE available for you to use to purchase food through October 31st. Please use these funds.
- Future Access Risk: If the shutdown continues past October 31, recipients may lose access to any leftover previous month’s benefits until the federal government reopens.
ALERTA IMPORTANTE PARA TODOS LOS BENEFICIARIOS DE SNAP
El Departamento de Agricultura de EE. UU. (FNS) advierte que el cierre del Gobierno Federal puede afectar directamente al Programa de Asistencia Nutricional Suplementaria (SNAP). Lo que los beneficiarios de Connecticut necesitan saber:
- Beneficios de noviembre: Los beneficios de SNAP para noviembre no se enviarán hasta que finalice el cierre federal o FNS proporcione una nueva orientación.
- Beneficios actuales: Los beneficios de SNAP que tenga cargados en su tarjeta EBT están disponibles para comprar alimentos hasta el 31 de octubre. Por favor, utilice estos fondos.
- Riesgo de acceso futuro: si el cierre continúa después del 31 de octubre, los beneficiarios pueden perder el acceso a los beneficios sobrantes del mes anterior hasta que el gobierno federal vuelva a abrir.
