PROJECT: BRIDGEPORT LEAD HAZARD CONTROL
GRANT # CTLHD0518-24

PURPOSE: To provide lead safe housing units that are occupied by children under the age of six or to be occupied by families with children under the age of six, especially if a child in the residence has been identified with an elevated blood lead level (EBLL). This will be accomplished by providing lead-based hazard reduction through interim controls or hazard abatement along with healthy homes assessments. The grant funds will ensure that lead paint inspections are done to ascertain the existence of lead paint hazards. There will be an application which must be accompanied with necessary forms to determine the occupant’s eligibility for the financial assistance to facilitate the remediation and or abatement of toxic sources of lead paint within their unit.

LOCATION: Lead prevention activities conducted with funds from this grant will be implemented citywide. At this time, no specific sites to conduct activities have been determined. Each specific site where remediation and or abatement activities will be conducted shall be recorded on enrollment applications and reported to HUD.
All affected and interested agencies groups and persons are encouraged to participate in this decision-making process regarding potential proposed actions in floodplains.
