Mayor Ganim and the City of Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center Advise Residents of Open Detonation at Lake Success Business Park
Today, Mayor Ganim and the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) have announced an approved plan for the open destruction of Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) found at Lake Success Business Park (formerly Remington Park). Sporting Goods Properties, Inc. (SGP) has obtained this approved plan from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will begin working throughout Lake Success Business Park, beginning July 6, 2026 until July 31, 2026.

The Bridgeport EOC in conjunction with Mayor Ganim advises all residents to take caution and seek refuge in cooling centers during normal business hours. Residents may utilize any of the locations listed below to seek shelter during periods of heat and increased health risk for those who have asthma.
