Welcome to the Bridgeport Police Department

Autism Awareness Month

Join the BPD in Fighting Cancer
Press Release
The Bridgeport Police Department embarked upon a “Give Cancer the Boot” initiative late 2021. The initiative raised funds through allowing members of the Bridgeport Police Department, both sworn and civilians, to wear pink shoelaces and/or don a pink Bridgeport Police Department patch on their uniform. This was the first time that we thought out of the box in being able to raise funds for cancer patients. All proceeds were for children plagued with this horrible disease through the CT Cancer Foundation.
I am very pleased to announce that today (January 13, 2022), I was able to provide Ms. Jane G. Ellis, President & Executive Director for the Connecticut Cancer Foundation a total of $5,000. She was very grateful for the donation and expressed the impact the donation will have on the “ambassadors” (children with cancer).
I cannot thank all of you enough who participated to include sworn and civilian members of the Bridgeport Police Department, Bridgeport BOE members, CAPSTAN, Sonitrol and community members. Your participation will help positively impact the life of a “brave little warrior.”
