Our mission:

To ensure the provision and coordination of human services for the City's armed forces veterans. This center serves as a central location for area veterans to access City and State assistance.

Transportation

Many services are available to veterans, including transportation in the form of a shuttle bus from the Department of Veterans Affairs to the V.A. Hospital in West Haven.

The free transportation program is open to Bridgeport veterans and their spouses. The bus makes two round-trips each day leaving the Veteran’s Affairs Office at 9:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. The bus leaves the V.A. Hospital to return to Bridgeport at 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Veterans Affairs Department bus can seat 21 passengers and can hold two wheelchair-bound passengers. More than 50 veterans a day take advantage of the free trip to the VA Hospital.

If you are in need of transportation, please contact us at 203-576-8348.

Food Pantry

Veterans can access a convenient food pantry on the third Tuesday and Wednesday of each month, operating from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This service provides essential food items to support the nutritional needs of our honored veterans in the local community.
