The Fire Marshal Division is a division of the Bridgeport Fire Department.  The division handles fire code plan review, fire code enforcement and public safety education.

The Fire Marshal Division provides protection of life and property for the public from the harmful effects of fire, explosion, and mechanical failure.  The protections are achieved by:
  • Providing public safety awareness, education in the identification and prevention of common risks from fire and other potential hazards, and to teach safe practices and behaviors which will minimize risks of injury or loss of life.

  • Conducting compliance reviews of plans and specifications, inspections, and investigations; and take enforcement action where appropriate, to assure compliance with laws and regulations administered by the State of Connecticut.

  • Battling arson by conducting investigations and providing technical resources for the identification, arrest, and prosecution of those responsible.

Please complete the Permit Application of Storage Tanks and forward to the Fire Marshal Division. 

Application is hereby made in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 8.36 of the City of Bridgeport Municipal Code, as amended, for a permit for the installation of storage tanks for flammable and combustible liquids or liquefied petroleum gas

Please complete the Fire Inspection/Annual Inspection form by selecting the type of inspection and all required information.
