The Water Pollution Control Authority Commission meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm. Meetings are conducted on Zoom until further notice. Meeting schedules may change due to holidays or other schedule conflicts.

About the Commission

The Water Pollution Authority (WPCA) for the City of Bridgeport is dedicated to guarantee the necessary professional, technical,and skill personnel, specialized facilities and equipment and the financial resources to comply with state and federal regulations.  The highest priority of the WPCA is to continue the progress of modernizing the City's sewer infrastructure and keep Long Island Sound clean.  The WPCA proudly supports the community it serves.

The Water Pollution Control Authority Commission consists of five members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council and four members from the City administration. 

  • The Mayor appoints five members for three years with Council approval
  • Four board members are automatically appointed to the Board: the City Engineer, the City Attorney, the Finance Director and the Director of Public Facilities
  • Three members in office for the duration of their tenure as civil servants obviating appointment and expiration terms
  • Members serve until a successor is appointed and has qualified.
