Taxes are due on January 1, payable by February 1. You have a one month “grace” period in which to pay without penalty. If February 1 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, you will have until that Monday in which to pay, in person or by mail. 

During July you may pay current bills at M & T Bank (Fairfield County only). No account needed. Yellow bills indicate back taxes and will not be accepted.

Drop box located in the Tax Office (July/January only) No Cash is accepted at the drop box location.

The City of Bridgeport FY2025-2026 mill rate be and herby is, set at 43.45 mills for real estate and personal property and 32.46 mills for motor vehicles.

The City of Bridgeport Tax Collector Office will have extended hours January 26- February 2, 2026  from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Saturday January 31, 2026 office hours are 10:00am to 3:00pm
