Councilmember Galen Murray brings over 20 years of professional experience working with nonprofits, nongovernmental institutions, and social enterprises in the community development and education sectors. He combines a deep passion for social justice with technical expertise in program implementation, business strategy, and managing cross-sector partnerships. Murray’s career includes work with the Auroville Village Action Group in rural Tamil Nadu, India, the United Nations Population Fund, the Council for Aid to Education, and SupportEd, Inc. He is the founder of Agora Learning, Inc., an educational services firm producing performance assessments for multilingual learners. Murray is the proud father of three boys and a coach for Black Rock Little League.
