Currently completing her second term on the council, Councilmember Rolanda Smith is a proud native of Bridgeport.  Following her passions for social services, such as food insecurity, mental health assistance, substance abuse, and homelessness prevention, Smith graduated from Springfield College with a BS in human services from Springfield College. For the last eleven years, Smith has served as the manager of King’s Pantry, operated by Healing Tree Economic Development, a nonprofit organization committed to providing support services for Bridgeport residents.

Councilmember Dasha Spell was born and raised in Bridgeport and is now proudly serving her second term in the 132nd District. Spell is passionate about housing, education, and economic development because she recognizes the need for social service programs in the city. She holds a BA in Psychology and an MS in Community Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University. Spell is currently involved with the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority INC and the Connecticut Disaster Behavioral Health Response Network.
