Upon moving to Bridgeport over twenty years ago, Councilmember Jeanette Herron became a fierce advocate for improving quality of life for residents, eliminating food deserts, and increasing support for senior citizens in the city. As the Community Liaison for the Bridgeport Public Schools, Herron focuses on supporting parents in various capacities in her role. She is a first-generation college graduate from the New York Institute of Technology with an AS in Early Childhood Education and holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport. Herron is a current board member of the National League of Cities, Hispanic Elected Local Officials, and The Color a Positive Thought Organization.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Councilmember Aikeem Boyd came from a family committed to public service, with some relatives employed by the city’s police and fire departments. A product of the Bridgeport Public Schools, Boyd served in the Navy for five years and is a graduate of Fordham University with a BS in political science. He is passionate about opportunities and programs for local Veterans in the city. Boyd currently works as a security guard for Saint Vincent’s Medical Center.
